A work in Progress

NESTING-I've been working like crazy to get things ready before our baby boy arrives. I was in need of a changing table for the nursery, so I took this old dresser that I had painted black years ago, and painted it navy blue. I changed out some of the hardware and voila!
My new and improved dresser/changing table!
To keep things easy (and cheap) I am reusing Devyn's crib bedding! I just decided to add navy to the yellow and white color scheme to make it a little more masculine.
I found an awesome deal on this furniture on craigslist a while back and saw it's potential right away!! I new it would work perfect for the "GLAMOUR" style bedroom I had envisioned for Devyn!

I love this feature!! the sides of the dresser open up to reveal 3 drawers on each side!! they just don't make furniture like they used to!! so cool!
AFTER-I absolutely love the way it turned out!!

Devyn has been sleeping in her"big girl bed" for just over a week now! She is doing so well! She loves her silky sheets!! For now it is just a mattress on the floor, because she is all over the place when she sleeps!
Soon she will be sleeping on a bed like this!! I found this bedding at Target a few months ago and that's where it all started! I'm working on curtains and even attempting to make my own upholstered headboard!! I've got my work cut out for me!! I'm trying to get this all done before the baby comes! Wish me Luck!

Wow your activity level puts the rest of us to shame. I am also impressed that you ALWAYS have Devyn dressed so you never have any diaper mishaps. One can only dream to be a mother that put together! :)
You'll need to give me some pointers of where to find your furniture. I've been looking on-line but nothing jumps out at me yet.

So CUTE! I LOVE the dressers you got...they look SO GOOD! You will definitely have to put up the pics after everything is finished! I'm impressed Devyn is doing so well in a "big girl" bed...I'm afraid I will have 2 in cribs for awhile.

Oh my gosh--I LVOE IT!!! and I'm so glad you posted about this because I am just about to start a similar project this week...i wanted to paint our bedroom set black and add similar hardware! (by the way--I seriously LOVE the way it turned out) you are awesome! So...now I need to pick your brain. How did you do it!? Spray paint, regular paint?? Did you have to do much prepatory work? Like sanding, primer?? and where did you get your hardward. I only ask so many questions because seriously it looks freaking awesome. i can't believe you're doing so much so close to your due date. You rock my world :)

Bettina! Thank you so much for getting back to me so fast! I seriously went yesterday to Lowe's and got everything I think I will need for my project. I would never have thought about that paint for the hardware. Genious! :) Thank you so much. I'll have to post when I finish.

Ok, so I know you've been asked a lot of questions already, but it's because they really look so professional. We just moved and I really don't know the first thing about it like sanding, paint, etc and have been debating redoing our entertainment center. Give me a heads up, or email me.
